This software tool is able to resize images, it also does format conversion and renaming.
AnyPic Image Resizer Free is a tool that lets you convert, resize and rename image files. With a batch process, you could handle a bunch of the digital images in one go. The tool handles a whole range of input formats and lets you convert them into some well known and popular formats. Inputs that can be handled include BMP, DIB, EPI, EPS, GIF, JPC, JPEG, PCD, PCX, PDB, PDF, PGM, PICT, PNG, PSD, SVG and TGA. If that does not cover the obscure format you are handling, there are others supported too. You should check out with the developer in such cases. The output can be in BMP, JPG (JPEG), PNG, TGA, TIFF, PSD, GIF formats. The interface makes it simple. You simply click on the button for that particular format on the interface.
As you are collecting the images for processing, you can view them as a series of thumbnails. That makes sure you are converting/resizing the right images. Settings include the quality level in case of JPEG format, resizing parameters. You can specify if you want to maintain the aspect ratio or not. There is a list of operators for resizing, and you get to choose one from the drop down list. Renaming controls lets you set if you want to retain the original name or want to use something else. This free tool will let you quickly resize the photos to make them suitable for your website or the mobile phone or an email or whatever. No distortions happen either. Good to have it in your tool kit. If you do not like it eventually, you can throw it away, it`s free!
